I'm not really sure, what you mean about "tonic". Tonus is a latin term used in to desbribe a muscle contraction. Is this what you are thinking about?

Tonicity is a measure of the osmotic pressure gradient, but I havn't heard of it in terms of training programs. Maybe we call it something different in Denmark.

But what I would recommend you, in order to get maximum power and speed in your trix, is to do excentric training (slow extension of the muscles under heavy weight)and explosive contractions. This maximizes both power and speed in your movements due to massive effect nerve pathways and recruitments of muscle fibers. You can do this with almost every exercise. I would recommend it on this one:

You can do it with almost all exercises. Just remember to let the excentric fase (extension fase) last for about 10 seconds and then explode in the concentric fase. Do it as fast as you can.

And then only do about 6rm (repition max), which means that you should lift as much wieght as possible within the 6 repitions.

Thank you Larse very good. ;)
Have you got another training in the week like footing?swining pool ?sprint? To complet your fitness program?

Usually I go mounting biking, when there is no wind. But I stick to my fitness program 2-3 times a week depending on, how much I am kiteboarding during the week.

Just remember, if you are sore (muscles hurt from either kiteboarding or fitness) then you're better off doing nothing. Then you need to recover...

Hello Lars,
Which program and exercises propose me you to find quickly the shape on water?

Re: Tonicity training ??? 1 year 5 months ago #161

Hi, it depends on what shape you're in right now and what style you ride. Go here:
www.kiteboardingexercises.com/index.php?...icle&id=49&Itemid=64

and find the program for your style. If you are not in a good shape right now, you should start with the basic program for 1-1,5 month and move on to the program that suits your style :)

Good luck :)

Thanks for your answer.
No that goes I am a sportsman but I need to win in speed on the water and in notch because I stagnate on the backmobe since a moment...but I do not progress any more since a moment..
That to make?

Hi Futé

Sorry for the late response. I've been bussy doing nothing at all during christmass ;)

I would just advice you to follow the unhooked program:
kiteboardingexercises.com/index.php?opti...icle&id=56&Itemid=68

But instead of the first "Speed skate" exercise, you should do the prehab program instead:

...and remember to have a good heel pressure, during all your leg exercises. This will help the stability of your knee :)
